Executing bilateral, government-level corporate diplomacy leaves zero margin for technical error. Over multiple iterations and working alongside various events management company partners, Klobbi has operated as the core technical architect for the FutureChina Global Forum (FCGF). We guided this monumental summit through the most turbulent technological era in event history—starting from a 100% virtual crucible during the peak of COVID-19 to expanding our scope into the world-class, international hybrid experience it is today.
Event: FutureChina Global Forum (FCGF)
Event Status: High-Stakes Bilateral Government & Corporate Diplomacy Summit
System Type: VIP conference management software and hybrid broadcasting hub
Core Deliverables: Great Firewall technical penetration, multi-track remote livestream production, virtual event platform development, onsite registration, and dynamic badge printing.
The Challenge: When the pandemic forced global lockdowns, “virtual events” were barely in their infancy. Livestreaming was not yet mainstream for corporate enterprises. Building a digital platform for a huge, bilateral government-level event with ultra-high stakes was a titanic uphill climb. We had to build a virtual event platform from scratch that ensured elite guests had frictionless access to all event content, while simultaneously managing the entire live broadcast production.
The Solution: Klobbi took over both the platform development and the live stream production, operating as the digital command centre for the entire forum.
The Challenge: For a bilateral forum focused on China, accessibility into the mainland was the single most critical failure point. At the time, the Great Firewall of China presented severe bandwidth throttling and aggressive routing blocks. We had to ensure that high-level delegates and government officials across all districts could access the platform and video feeds without being disconnected.
The Solution:
Cross-Border Network Routing: We deployed a highly resilient streaming architecture designed to bypass standard geographic latency bottlenecks. By optimising our server nodes, we ensured that VIPs logging in from various mainland districts experienced low lag, maintaining the diplomatic integrity and prestige of the summit.
The Challenge: As COVID restrictions lifted, the event landscape fractured again. FCGF could not simply abandon its newly established global digital reach, but it needed to bring physical diplomacy back. The mandate was to transition into a flawless hybrid space—running a massive physical event simultaneously with the digital broadcast.
The Solution: Klobbi expanded the scope of the project, proving our capability as a high-security corporate event registration system that handles massive events.
On a personal and strategic level, executing the technology for a bilateral government forum of this magnitude for the first time was nerve-wracking. The pressure was immense. But successfully delivering that first summit broke a massive mental barrier for our team, proving that Klobbi possesses the engineering firepower and tactical grit to manage the highest stakes imaginable.
Looking back, I would like to think that Klobbi played a foundational role in evolving what the FutureChina Global Forum is today. When the pandemic hit, FCGF was one of the very first organisations to take the leap, embrace the sudden violent change in the event landscape, push on, and never look back. By partnering with visionary organising team, we helped transform a forced virtual pivot into a permanent, world-class international hybrid experience. We are fiercely proud of the digital infrastructure we built for this summit and truly grateful for the experience of executing it on a global stage.
